Thousands of people marched in Barcelona today to protest the jailing of nine Catalan separatist leaders facing trial on "rebellion" charges. Many chanted "Freedom for the political prisoners" as they massed on the Parallel Avenue, one of the city's main streets, wearing yellow scarves, sweaters or jackets -- the colour chosen to show solidarity with the jailed leaders.

Catalanes salen de nuevo a las calles para pedir la libertad de líderes independentistas

Convocados por el grupo "Democracia y Convivencia", cientos de catalanes salieron a las calles de Barcelona, para protestar por la independencia y contra la represión. Libertad fue la consigna y el color amarillo vistió buena parte de la ciudad condal. Las protestas fueron también a favor de los líderes presos como Jordi Sánchez.
