Parents can now search vaccines.gov for locations to get children ages 5 to 11 vaccinated against the coronavirus.
White House Covid-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said Wednesday that the federal government's online vaccine finder would be updated and available for parents to use by the end of the week.
The online tool asks parents to enter a zip code and select a search radius to identify locations for the pediatric version of Pfizer's Covid-19 vaccine.
A search in midtown Atlanta, for example, turned up 50 locations in a 17-mile radius that had appointments available, including locations at doctor's offices and major pharmacy chains. A similar search in Bushwick, Brooklyn, turned up just as many locations in a six-mile radius.
