The Mayan archaeological site of Tulum saw a 74% increase in booking interest.

Cartagena, Colombia —
Located along Colombia's Caribbean coast, Cartagena is the No. 2 spot on the list, with a 49% jump in booking interest on TripAdvisor. Its historic Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Porto, Portugal —
Porto, Portugal's second-largest city and the birthplace of port wine, is third on the list.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee —
No. 4 on TripAdvisor's global list, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is the gateway to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Gatlinburg is the No. 1 destination on the travel booking and review site's list of U.S. Destinations on the Rise.

Moscow —
Moscow is the No. 5 destination on the list, with a 27% year-over-year spike in booking interest.

Brighton, England —
The colorful seaside resort of Brighton, in East Sussex, is No. 6 on the global list. Festivals, pulsing nightlife and quirky shops draw visitors to this town about an hour south of London by train.

New Delhi —
New Delhi ranks seventh on TripAdvisor's list, with a 28% increase in booking interest year-over-year.

Banff, Alberta —
Eighth-ranked Banff is beautiful year-round. The town of Banff is located within Alberta's Banff National Park, Canada's oldest national park.

Lima, Peru —
Lima ranks ninth on the list, with a 33% jump in booking interest. Peru's capital city, Lima accounts for about a fourth of the country's population.

Foz do Iguacu, Brazil —
Located on the border of Brazil's Iguacu Falls, the town of Foz do Iguacu saw a 34% increase in booking interest year-over-year. The semicircular waterfall is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site.
