Surreal HK: Hong Kong-based photographer Tommy Fung launched Instagram account "Surreal HK" to document his life in Hong Kong in a fun and lighthearted way.

The old airport: Fung took this shot at Hong Kong's Kai Tak cruise terminal, location of the city's former airport. "It seems that pilot didn't get the memo... Kai Tak Airport is no longer operational," says his caption.

'Every street is a battlefront': Pedestrians crossing the busiest road in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong are armed with lightsabers by Fung.

Flying taxi: This picture of a hover taxi plays on the local slang "fei dik" (or fly taxi), which basically translates to "get somewhere by taxi in a great hurry."

Hong Kong snacks: Despite migrating to Venezuela when he was young, Fung still remembers the famous street snacks of Hong Kong. "Once you've tasted egg waffle, you can't get it out of your head," Fung writes in the caption.

UFO restaurant: The "UFO" in this image is actually Hong Kong's only rotating restaurant, located atop Hopewell Centre (the skyscraper on the right).

Supersonic minibus: Notorious for its limit-pushing speeds, a red minibus -- especially late at night -- is like a supersonic roller coaster ride.

Changing perspectives: "Many photographers do the same thing on social media," says Fung, pictured. "When there is a new hot spot, they'll go there and take the same shot. I chose a more surreal way to showcase Hong Kong from my point of view."Fung added this tilted view from Lion Rock Hill to the window of an MTR compartment.

Hungry Ghost Festival: One recent Surreal HK post focuses on the Hungry Ghost Festival, which takes place in the seventh month of the lunar calender, when spirits are believed to roam the earth. "I went to see a Chinese opera performance and I thought if we 'move' these performers to a completely different environment, like the MTR, it'll be kind of eerie," says Fung.
