Sommarøy: Sommarøy -- meaning Summer Island -- is an island in West Tromsø, around 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle.

'If I could turn back time': This little island of around 300 inhabitants is campaigning to become the world's first-free time zone.

Midnight Sun: Conventional timekeeping means little here, where the sun doesn't set between May and July, and the darkness of the long Polar Night lasts from November to January.

Leave your watches here: Rather than the padlocks you might see on bridges elsewhere in the world, there are watches abandoned on the bridge that links Sommarøy to the mainland.

The islanders: Kjell Ove Hveding (front) is leading the campaign for a time-free Sommarøy.
