Gallup survey reveals world’s safest countries for 2018
Worlds safest countries: What makes a country safe? Gallup's 2018 Global Law and Order has ranked countries across the world based on how citizens feel about their welfare and security. At number 5. Indonesia. Click through the gallery to find out which is seen as safest.

4. Switzerland:One of the world's wealthiest countries, Switzerland came fourth in Gallup's round-up of safest spots.

3. Uzbekistan -- This central Asian country was once part of the ancient Silk Road route. The country got a score of 91 in the ranking.

3. Hong Kong -- Also at number 3 with a score of 91 is Hong Kong, a city known for its low crime rate. The country also came third in Gallup's ranking of Countries Most Likely to Feel Safe in 2017.

2. Norway -- Norway is number two on the list, with a score of 93. The stunning Nordic country often tops rankings charting quality of life. In March 2018, it was crowned second place in the latest World Happiness Report.

2. Iceland -- Also at number two on the Gallup roundup was Iceland, which also has a score of 93. The country known for its incredible landscapes and tourism-must sees is often celebrated as a secure spot.

2. Finland -- Known for its snowy wildernesses, Finland also ties for second place with a score of 93. The country also topped this years World Happiness Report.

1. Singapore -- Singapore is ranked number one on the list of the 142 countries who participated in the report. The country got a 97 score. Residents answered questions based on their confidence in the police force, how safe they feel walking alone and their personal experience of crime.
