New airplane seat concept: Interspace Lite is a new airplane seat design from transportation technology company Universal Movement.

Social distancing on board: Interspace Lite adds additional kit to the unused airplane middle seat as a divider, to help travelers socially distance.

Comfort is key: Designer Luke Miles says what makes this concept stand out from other ideas is that the divider that separates the window and aisle seat isn't a clear screen, which he says will make travelers feel more comfortable.

Additional space: Miles also thinks travelers could use the space on the middle seat for their belongings.

Coming soon: Universal Movement has partnered with airplane seat manufacturer Safran to bring Interspace Lite to market ASAP.

Doable timeline: Miles thinks this is doable. "We want to get people flying again and we want people to fly feeling comfortable," he says. "The industry has been knocked."
