Epic walk: In August 2017, former paratrooper Christian Lewis, seen in St. Abbs, Scotland, set off from Swansea, Wales, with the aim of walking the entire UK coastline. He picked up dog Jet in Northern Ireland around nine-months into the journey.

Grueling journey: Lewis is now just a few months away from completing the 14,000-kilometer (around 8,700-mile) hike.

Big changes: There have been many twists and turns throughout his trip, which has lasted nearly six years.

Unexpected romance: Lewis met and fell in love with former teacher Kate Barron while hiking through Scotland last year.

Tiny companion: The couple have since had a son, Magnus, and the family is completing the remainder of the route together.

Family adventure: "I had to give everything up," Barron says of her decision to join Lewis on the walk. "But I knew that it was what I wanted to do."

Outdoor lifestyle: They estimate that they'll have reached their final point in the next three months or so.

Little adventurer: Magnus "lives outside," Lewis says. "So he actually gets to visually see everything and he's so happy. You can tell he's going to be a little adventurer already."

New life: Lewis is now approaching the final section of the walk with Barron, Magnus and Jet beside him.
