Terminal vision: Doha's new cruise terminal opened in 2022, expanding the Middle East destination's capacity to handle visiting leisure ships.

Shore thing: The terminal has proved to be a destination in its own right, attracting Qatar-based visitors wanting a look.

Under the arches: The terminal's architecture is inspired by traditional Arabic designs.

Going large: The terminal can accommodate two ships at the same time, both with capacities of more than 6,000 passengers.

Taste of Greece: Next to the terminal sits the Mina District, a pastel-colored assortment of cafes, restaurants, and boutiques, all reminiscent of Greece.

Location, location, location: "A lot of cruise terminals in North America are in uninviting locations -- industrial harbors or areas that are otherwise closed off to the public. I love that Doha's terminal is situated in one of the city's most picturesque places," says Cruise Critic's Aaron Saunders.
