Unearthed photos: In 2008, Jennifer Skupin purchased a box of old slides from a flea market in Amsterdam, in the Netherlands. She digitized the shots and discovered a collection of stunning photos.

Travels in Alaska: The images seem to date from the 1950s and 1960s, and are mostly taken in Alaska, including the town of Anchorage, pictured.

Abandoned search: A lot of the images contain people, and Skupin figured she might be able to track down the photographers or the subjects. She tried back in 2008, but to no avail.

Trying again: Rediscovering the slides at the end of 2020, Skupin figured it might be easier to make some headway in our more digitized, connected world.
