
Ocean Park: Hong Kong's homegrown theme park is going through a major makeover. Water World, set to open in 2019, will feature a series of unique terraced platforms facing the South China Sea.

New Ocean Park hotels: Expansion plans include two hotels -- Ocean Park Marriott Hotel (set to open in 2018) and Fullerton Ocean Park Hotel Hong Kong (scheduled for 2021) -- as well as a water park, which will be open year-round.

Ocean Park Marriott Hotel: The 471-room Marriott will feature a 16-meter-high cylindrical aquarium centerpiece in the hotel lobby and a range of themed rooms.

Xiqu Centre: Among the five major buildings in West Kowloon Cultural District, Xiqu Centre will be the first and only major structure to open in 2018. It'll be dedicated to promoting and conserving Cantonese opera as well as other traditional Chinese performances.

Tai Kwun: One of the most anticipated new attractions in Hong Kong, Tai Kwun finally opened in May 2018 following years of renovation work.

Historical complex: Dating back to 1841, Tai Kwun is a 13,600-square-meter walled cluster comprised of 16 historical buildings, including three declared monuments -- Central Police Station, Central Magistracy and Victoria Prison -- and two new buildings.

Victoria Prison: Tai Kwun's old Victoria Prison will house a restaurant where visitors can taste a "prison meal."

Laundry Steps: The revamped Tai Kwun now houses an international-grade art gallery, an auditorium and a carefully curated selection of shops and restaurants.

Rosewood Hong Kong: Towering over the Victoria Harbour, Rosewood Hong Kong is home to 323 rooms, 90 suites -- the highest number in town -- and eight restaurants and bars.

Frozen: Another highlight coming to Hong Kong Disney is a "Frozen"-themed area.

The Mills: A witness to the golden era of Hong Kong's manufacturing industry in the 1950s, the disused Nan Fung Textiles factory complex will be transformed into The Mills, a fashion-themed destination.

A fashionable creative hub: When it opens later this year, The Mills will have a three-story workshop for budding local designers and startups, a shopping floor showcasing the city's best craftwork and an exhibition space called Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile (CHAT), as well as dining.
