Background
In 1994, NFL legend O.J. Simpson was charged with two counts of murder in the stabbing deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. The jury returned a not guilty verdict, after less than four hours of deliberations.
In charges stemming from a separate 2007 incident, Simpson was found guilty of kidnapping and armed robbery and sentenced to up to 33 years in prison. He was granted parole in July 2017, after 9 years. Read more history on Simpson.
