  • Fifty years after the historic Apollo 11 mission, the giant Saturn V rocket remains the only launch vehicle to carry humans beyond low Earth orbit (LEO) to the Moon. A three-stage rocket, the Saturn V stood 363 feet tall (111 meters), nearly 60 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty.
