  • Kate Sullivan is a CNN White House reporter based in Washington, DC, where she covers the Biden administration.

    Sullivan previously worked as a campaign reporter for CNN, writing about the 2020 presidential election. During the election, she covered the wide Democratic primary field, as well as the general election amid the coronavirus pandemic.

    Prior to joining the campaign team, Sullivan worked on CNN's breaking news team in Washington, DC. She spent time on Capitol Hill covering Congress, and also wrote about a wide range of national political issues.

    Sullivan started at CNN as a news associate in the DC bureau. In that role, she produced from Capitol Hill and assisted across all aspects of show production.

    A graduate of Georgetown University, she majored in government and studied Arabic and Chinese. She is fluent in Spanish, and grew up in Tokyo, Mexico City, and London.
