  • Julia Hollingsworth is a Senior Producer for CNN Digital Worldwide, based in Hong Kong. She writes about the Asia-Pacific region with a focus on feature stories.

    Before joining CNN in 2019, Hollingsworth worked as a general news reporter for Australian Associated Press in Auckland before moving to Hong Kong where she reported for South China Morning Post. She was also a feature editor at Sixth Tone in Shanghai, where she led a team of reporters and edited features exploring life in China. Hollingsworth won a Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) award for her work at Sixth Tone.

    A New Zealand native, Hollingsworth studied politics and philosophy at Otago University in Dunedin, before completing a postgraduate diploma in journalism at Massey University in Wellington. She later spent a year studying Mandarin at Tsinghua University in Beijing on a New Zealand government scholarship.
