About 

  • Jonathan Reyes is the award-winning Executive Creative Director for CNN Digital, overseeing the visual language for the network's video products. He also formed and oversees CNN Motion, a global in house motion graphics group dedicated to creating high end animation and designs for digital news, storytelling, and emerging media.

    In addition to leading a team of multidisciplinary artists and defining the style for digital video, Reyes is also a hands-on designer and animator. He creates visuals for special projects, including Eclipse of the Century, the most-watched VR livestream ever, and #Being13, the Emmy Award-winning documentary with Anderson Cooper,

    Prior to CNN, Reyes served as Creative Director for Video at Visual.ly, where he helped Fortune 500 brands such as KIA, Nike, and Cisco tell their stories through online animations and videos, recruited and managed their design roster, and served as creative liaison for sales and strategy. He was also lead motion graphic designer at networks such as NBC, CBS, Comedy Central, and Bloomberg where he redesigned their on-air look, refined his branding and motion design skills and developed his hands-on leadership style.

    His work has received accolades and major awards around the world, including 3 Emmy nominations for Outstanding Graphic Design and Art Direction and 1 Emmy win, nominations and wins from the Webby's, Promax, the EPPY's, Cannes Media, and the Radio Television Digital News Association with an Edward R. Murrow award win.

    Reyes received his undergraduate degrees in Art and Design, Communications, and Multidisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Digital Media, Communication Media, and Film and Media from North Carolina State University.
