John Antonio is Vice President of Programming for CNN/U.S. He is the network's primary programming executive in Atlanta, directing approximately 50 hours of live television per week from the network's headquarters while working closely with CNN International, CNN en Español and CNN Digital.
Antonio has helmed CNN's coverage of the coronavirus pandemic, the mass shootings at Stoneman Douglas Highschool and the Pulse Nightclub, the fire at Notre Dame Cathedral, and several hurricanes and wildfires. He has contributed to CNN's award-winning coverage of the Arab Spring, and the riots in Charlotte and Baltimore.
Before joining CNN, Antonio was the managing editor/executive producer for WABC-TV in New York, and the executive producer of Special Project for WFXT-TV in Boston.
Antonio earned his bachelor's degree of journalism from the University of Florida.
