Hande Atay Alam is a producer for CNN’s International Desk in Atlanta. She has more than 15 years of experience and has worked in both Washington D.C. and Atlanta.
Atay Alam has worked on a variety of breaking news stories and played a key role during CNN’s award-winning coverage of the assassination of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. She also worked on other major stories, including the assassination of Qasem Soleimani and the 2020 downing of a Ukranian plane by Iran, among others.
Atay Alam has worked as a reporter, field producer and show producer for CNN affiliate CNN Turk and began her career as an intern with CNN World Report.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Communications and Broadcasting from the Clarion University of Pennsylvania and holds a Master of International Public Policy from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of Johns Hopkins University.
Atay Alam is fluent in Turkish and English.
