  • Gary Cotton is a producer for CNN's mobile programming team.

    He previously worked for MLB.com where he was a reporter and editorial producer focused on breaking news.

    Cotton has worked in news media since he was sixteen years old. He wrote, anchored and produced video news packages for Newsy.com before taking on roles at, The Missourian, NBC afflilitate KOMU, NPR afflilitate KBIA, Odyssey, FLEX magazine, Men's Fitness magazine, Muscle and Fitness Hers magazine and Muscle & Fitness magazine.

    While at Muscle and Fitness, Cotton used his multimedia background to help shepherd the brand's shift from a print-focused product to a digital-first product. His experience in the high-paced world of sports was key as he crafted M&F's breaking news and social media strategies en route to record-breaking engagment metrics in 2015.

    Cotton is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and a graduate of both the Missouri School of Journalism and the Sports Journalism Institute. In his free time likes to play the saxophone, play video games and work out.
