  • Flora Charner is CNN's Senior News Editor for Latin America Affairs, based in Atlanta, Georgia.

    In her role, Charner is the editorial lead for stories in Latin America. She also coordinates with field teams and produces news reports and features from Latin American for all CNN platforms.

    She is often deployed for on-location story management on big stories, including Venezuela's ongoing socio-political and economic crisis, the election of Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires.

    Charner previously worked as CNN's producer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she worked on the network's coverage of the 2016 Summer Olympics, the Zika outbreak and the impeachment process of President Dilma Rousseff.

    Before joining CNN, Charner held writer and producer roles at Al Jazeera English, America's Quarterly and Associated Press Television in Brazil and Washington DC.

    Charner graduated cum laude from Emerson College with a BS in Broadcast Journalism. She holds an MA in Politics from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism.

    She is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
