    McMorris-Santoro comes to CNN from Vice News, where he won an Emmy for coverage of the Justice Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings. At CNN, McMorris-Santoro covered the Coronavirus pandemic in hotspots across the country, the Black Lives Matter protest movement and closely followed the crisis in American education in 2020.

    His career began in his native North Carolina, where he was a newspaper reporter. He was based in D.C. covering Capitol Hill, the White House and the campaign trail for more than a decade before moving to New York to work on stories about the national conversation outside the capital.
