  • Elana Zak is the Senior Editor of Programming at CNN Business where she is responsible for overseeing homepages and optimizing content for mobile and desktop.

    She works closely with editors and writers on story framing and headlines, trains staff on digital best practices and liaises with CNN flagship homepage teams on push alerts and articles. In her role, she also collaborated with product, marketing and sales to successfully launch two of CNN's fastest growing newsletters -- Nightcap and Work Transformed.

    Previously, Zak was the social media lead at Stat, Boston Globe Media's life sciences site, and was on the audience engagement team at The Wall Street Journal. She was also an Adjust Professor at New York University and held roles at Muck Rack, Mediabistro and GateHouse Media New England.

    Zak holds a bachelor's degree from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication and a master's degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London.
