• Christian Oliver is the Senior Director of Audience Development and Analytics at CNN Digital.

    A pioneer of digital news and media, Oliver has over 25 years of experience in audience development, analytics, product development, and strategic innovation in news and entertainment organizations. He has a strong track record of focusing teams on consumer science, product discovery, A/B testing, and personalization in order to drive engagement and habit.

    Oliver began his career by launching Venezuelan newspaper, El Universal, in 1996 before moving to the U.S. where he then worked with various news organizations and publishers internationally focusing on strategy, product and digital transformation projects.

    Oliver joined CNN in 2011 as a Business Manager where he led business strategy and partnership efforts that were responsible for a tenfold growth in partnership revenues. He then became the Director of Business Intelligence, directing and overseeing high-level strategic and tactical decisions for business intelligence tools and applications.

    Now, Oliver oversees the consumer science practice at CNN Digital, combining data-driven product discovery with quantitative experimentation to improve product development efforts. In this role he has been involved in strategy, business development, business operations, and the launch of real-time analytics and the adoption of modern collaboration tools.

    Oliver holds a BS from the Universidad Metropolitana (VE) and an MBA from Duke University—The Fuqua School of Business. He currently resides in Atlanta.
