Betsy Anderson is a Senior Producer for CNN Special Projects. In this role, she oversees the production of feature programming on CNN and HLN. She leads of team of producers based in Atlanta and New York, and manages the CNN Worldwide Initiative Impact your World.
In her years at CNN, Anderson has helped produce an array of major news stories and events, including multiple presidential elections, the Oklahoma City bombing, President Clinton’s impeachment, 9/11, Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster and the War in Iraq.
Anderson began her career at a weekly newspaper in Minnesota, followed by a move into radio and local television in Los Angeles. She arrived at CNN Headline News in 1992, and in 1996 transitioned to CNN as a writer. She worked her way up to producer and spent many years in live news production both in the control room and in the field. Betsy became a freelance writer/producer in 2003. In addition to freelancing at CNN as a producer for Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Anderson produced commercial and documentary work in Africa. She returned to CNN full time in 2008.
Betsy is a competitive barefoot water skier and spends her free time on the water.
