  • Adam Thomas is the Executive Producer of the weekend primetime edition of CNN Newsroom with Ana Cabrera based in the network's headquarters in Atlanta.

    Throughout his tenure as an Executive Producer, Thomas has helmed countless hours of breaking news coverage, working with the network's top anchors, including Ana Cabrera, Wolf Blitzer, Poppy Harlow, Anderson Cooper, Jake Tapper and Chris Cuomo, among others, occasionally leading coverage for up to eight hours straight. Thomas has led CNN viewers though the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, the shooting at a Walmart in El Paso, Tx., the 2017 hurricane season -- Harvey, Irma and Maria -- the deaths of Senator John McCain and basketball legend Kobe Bryant, the Pulse Nightclub Shooting and the Paris Terror Attacks.

    Thomas began his career at CNN in 2002 based in the New York bureau. As a Line Producer he worked on CNN's Peabody Award-winning coverage of the 2008 Presidential Election and had a lead role in steering the network's coverage of the 2008 financial crisis during his decade with CNN business news. After launching and serving as Executive Producer for the show Ali Velshi on Target at Al Jazeera America, Thomas returned to CNN in 2015 to assume the role he currently holds.

    Thomas holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Pennsylvania.
