Oklahoma’s primaries will take place on Super Tuesday. In the 2016 general election, Donald Trump won the state with 65.32% of the vote, compared with Hillary Clinton’s 28.93%. Oklahoma is a solidly Republican state. In 2016, both Trump and Republican Sen. James Lankford won every county in the state. Republicans hold the governorship and bothchambers of the state Legislature. Still, the state’s 5th District did elect Democrat Kendra Horn to the House in 2018. Only one Democratic presidential nominee has won Oklahoma since 1952 – Lyndon Johnson in 1964.
