Maryland moved its primary from April 28 to June 2 because of the coronavirus pandemic. In the 2016 general election, Hillary Clinton won Maryland with 60.33% of the vote, compared with Donald Trump’s 33.91%. Democrats have won Maryland in the last seven presidential elections. Democrats control both US Senate seats, a majority of Maryland’s US House seats and both chambers of the state Legislature. Still, Republicans hold the governor’s office.
