American Samoa, which has been a US territory since 1900, participates in the presidential primary process but not the general election. This year, the Democratic caucus will be on Super Tuesday, while the Republican caucus will take place on March 18. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the Democratic caucus. The Republican delegates that year were unbound, but decided to support Donald Trump ahead of the national convention. While people born in other US territories are granted citizenship at birth, no such law exists for American Samoa.
