The race to replace term-limited South Dakota Gov. Dennis Daugaard (R) could get interesting. GOP Rep. Kristi Noem and Democratic state Senate Minority Leader Billie Sutton are fighting for the state's top spot. Sutton, a moderate Democrat with deep ties to the state who was paralyzed in a rodeo accident, could make strong inroads, but Noem may have an advantage in this deep red state. Neither of South Dakota's senators faces the voters this year, and Republican Dusty Johnson is expected to win election to the state's lone House seat.
