Jacki Schechner

Jacki Schechner joined CNN in 2005 as one of the network’s first Internet reporters. Based in Washington, D.C., Schechner researches and reports on Web logs and general Internet content for The Situation Room.

Schechner brought experience in both television and Internet broadcasting to the network. Most recently, She produced and hosted video news segments for a reality-based video game company in New York City. During the 2000 presidential election cycle, Schechner was the on-camera chat host for, an interactive Internet television company. She covered the South Carolina primaries and was a part of's coverage of both the Republican and Democratic national conventions. She also worked as a reporter, producer and host for Café Digital, a cable television program featuring digital technology and culture. She got her start in sports as an associate sports producer for WSVN7- Fox in Miami and as the morning sports anchor/ reporter at NBC-25 in Hagerstown, Md.

Schechner earned a bachelor's degree in diplomatic history from the University of Pennsylvania and a master's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami.
