The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro are some of the best wireless earbuds we’ve tested, with fantastic sound, solid active noise cancellation and a long list of useful features. And now that they’re down to a decidedly less “Pro” price, they’re an even better pickup for anyone who wants a great high-end pair of buds for their Android phone.
Samsung’s highest-end earbuds are down to their lowest-ever price of $135, which is a steep discount off of their $199 retail price. That’s cheaper than the discounted AirPods 3 (currently $169) and AirPods Pro (currently $179), and is an especially fantastic price for a pair of buds with active noise cancellation and lots of extra features. The one catch is that this extra-low price only applies to the white model — though the black, silver and purple options are still available at a still-discounted $149.
Regardless of how much you choose to save, you’ll be getting our favorite wireless earbuds for Android users. These buds feature dependable active noise cancellation (ANC), an Ambient Noise feature that lets you customize how much of the outside world bleeds through and a really neat Voice Detect feature that automatically turns ANC off when you start talking to someone.
The Galaxy Buds Pro’s active noise cancellation isn’t quite as supressive as that of the AirPods Pro, but it still proved reliable for dampening the sounds of nearby chatter and construction. And unlike Apple’s Transparency mode, you get multiple levels of Ambient Noise to choose from, which is helpful if you want to stay extra aware of your surroundings.
Samsung’s premium earbuds also look and feel great, with a subdued, stylish design and comfortable silicone ear tips that we were happy to keep in our ears for days on end. It doesn’t hurt that they sound great, with enough clarity and depth to make our favorite angry rock songs sound bright and full. We found them to be especially fantastic for calls, which may be especially important to you if you’re still taking meetings from your living room (or while walking your dog). And they can last a solid five hours on a charge.
The one catch is that most of the Buds Pro’s best features are exclusive to the Galaxy Wearable app, which is only on Android. Samsung’s buds will still pair just fine with an iPhone, but you’ll need an Android device if you want to be able to do things like customize the controls, toggle different music equalizer settings and adjust how much ambient noise comes through.
Still, the Galaxy Buds Pro are a fantastic AirPods Pro alternative for Android users — especially when they cost less than some earbuds that have a fraction of their features.
