I really love the Razer Blade 15 Advanced, which is the rare gaming laptop I can see myself bringing into a Starbucks without cowering in embarrassment. It’s also the gaming laptop we recommend for folks willing to splurge — though you won’t have to do nearly as much of that with this massive Black Friday deal.
GameStop currently has a high-end Razer Blade 15 Advanced model on sale for $1,599, which is nearly half off its $2,999 retail price. The one catch is that this is a previous-generation model with a 10th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD storage drive and Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics. So while you’re not getting the latest 11th Gen Intel processor or Nvidia 30-series graphics — which are more powerful — you’re still getting a machine that will capably handle top PC games like Guardians of the Galaxy or Resident Evil Village for years to come.
The Razer Blade 15 packs high-end gaming performance into a gorgeous and slim design, and you can currently snag this previous-gen model at a huge discount.
The Blade 15 Advanced is our favorite high-end gaming laptop, and it’s beautiful design is a big reason why. Thanks to its subdued black exterior and svelte 0.7-inch edges, the Blade 15 stands out from a sea of overly aggressive-looking gaming notebooks with a sophisticated look that fits the office as much as it will your gaming den. That’s not to say there’s nothing flashy about it — the Blade 15’s excellent keyboard has customizable RGB backlighting, which can glow all kinds of cool color patterns and even react to compatible games in real time.
This version of the Blade 15 packs a 1920 x 1080 display with a 300Hz refresh rate, which means it’s exponentially smoother than the typical laptop screen and allows you to play games at very high frame rates for the most responsive experience possible. We tested a newer model with a 360Hz screen, but either way, you’re getting a display that pops with color while allowing the on-screen action to look extremely fluid.
One word of warning is that our 2021 Razer Blade 15 didn’t have the best battery life, tapping out at around 3 hours on our tests. Your mileage may vary on this model, but we’d definitely recommend keeping the charger handy when you’re on the go.
Still, if you don’t mind having a previous-gen model that’s still well-equipped for serious PC gaming, you’d be hard-pressed to find better specs for this price. Especially when all of that power is packed into a design that won’t raise any eyebrows during your holiday travels.
