Whether you’re looking for something to do while social distancing for the next few weeks or your tried-and-true Kindle is starting to show its age, now may be a good time to take advantage of Amazon’s current Kindle promotion. The online retailer is discounting the standard Kindle and the Kindle Paperwhite, and they’re both solid deals.
- Kindle ($59.99, originally $89.99; amazon.com)
- Kindle Paperwhite ($94.99, originally $$129.99; amazon.com)
Amazon’s all-new Kindle is currently 33% off its regular $89.99 price, making it just $59.99 with Special Offers turned on. If you’d rather not have ads as a screensaver, you can pay an extra $20 for the without-special-offers version. The new Kindle has a 6-inch display, 4GB of storage, “weeks” of battery life, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and comes in black or white.
The Kindle Paperwhite is also on sale. It’s now $94.99, down from $129.99, and the ad-free version is marked down to $114.99. The Paperwhite is loaded with features like 8GB of storage (there’s also a 32GB option, but that’s a lot of books), a higher resolution display, Bluetooth connectivity for audiobooks, and an IPX8 waterproof rating in case you’re reading poolside. There’s also a Wi-Fi plus cellular version of the Paperwhite if you’d like access to the Kindle store from wherever you are.
