Cameron Boyce’s former “Jessie” costar Debby Ryan posted a tribute to her friend on Sunday night, sharing with her followers some wise words the late Disney star once said in a speech.

“It’s crazy, we can tweet whenever we want and we can use social media and Instagram and make the world a better place, instead of a worse one, which so many people use it for,” Boyce says in the video clip shared to Ryan’s Instagram stories. “We need to use our resources and…what we have and make the world a better place for other people, other people, people who need us.”

The clip was taken from a speech Boyce gave when he accepted the pioneering spirit award at the 2018 Thirst Gala, which raises awareness about the global water crisis.

Boyce, 20, died in his sleep Saturday morning of a seizure brought on by an “ongoing medical condition,” a family spokesperson told CNN.

“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the spokesperson said. “He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”

The family said in a statement: “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him. We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”

“Jessie” ran for four seasons from 2011-2015.
