US Rep. Tulsi Gabbard ended her presidential campaign on Thursday, March 19, and endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden.
Gabbard, an Iraq War veteran who was elected to the House of Representatives in 2012, officially launched her presidential campaign in February 2019.
"I will bring this soldier's principles to the White House, restoring the values of dignity, honor and respect to the presidency and above all else, love for our people and love for our country," she said at an event in her home state of Hawaii.
Gabbard is the first American Samoan and the first Hindu to serve in Congress. She used to be a vice-chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, but she resigned to become one of US Sen. Bernie Sanders' highest-profile supporters during the 2016 race.
