What do Lady Gaga, Tom Hanks and Bebe Rexha have in common? Well, besides being celebrities (obviously), they all had moments this week that created some internet buzz. Here they are and the other videos you don’t want to miss:
Cut the beat
Mixing politics and religion is usually considered bad form, but six-time Grammy winner Lady Gaga couldn’t resist. The singer stopped in the middle of her Las Vegas show to address Donald Trump and the partial government shutdown, Vice President Mike Pence and Christianity, and her prayers for 2020 presidential contenders.
What would you do?
A terrified woman stumbled down the street in Beirut, crying and struggling to tell people she had just been raped. But the woman was an actress. Bystanders didn’t realize she was part of filming for a new campaign in Lebanon called “Shame on who?” that tries to shift the blame from victims of sexual violence to the perpetrators.
The story behind the story
Viral video of a 2-year-old walking toward officers with her hands up sparked outrage on social media, but things are not always what they seem. The toddler was imitating her father, who was being arrested. Tallahassee, Florida, police released bodycam footage to show the situation was quickly resolved.
Tom Hanks 2.0
The actor is said to be “one of the nicest guys in show business,” but he revealed even he has a breaking point. As a guest on Conan O’Brien’s late-night show, Hanks shared his go-to phrase when angry, and O’Brien jokingly questioned the star’s reputation.
One size doesn’t fit all
Bebe Rexha has been nominated for best new artist at the 61st Grammy Awards; however, the singer isn’t celebrating just yet. Rexha took to social media to call out designers who purportedly rejected dressing her for the awards show, telling her she’s “too big.”
