Rottnest Island tandem skydive (starting at $261.34; viator.com)

Situated just offshore from Perth, Australia, Rottnest Island is known for its secluded, scenic views. There you'll find a protected nature reserve, white sand beaches, and for thrill-seekers, an incredible spot for skydiving. On this tour, you'll take a 20-minute flight above the picturesque beach, then jump from an altitude of 10,000, 14,000, or 15,000 feet. Once your parachute is open, you can float down to the beach area of Salmon Bay and enjoy the stunning view along the way.

Victoria Falls helicopter tour (starting at $150; viator.com)

Victoria Falls is an iconic destination and is one of the biggest waterfalls in the world. And there's nothing like soaking in the views of this UNESCO Natural Heritage Site up close and personal via helicopter. If you're up for hovering next to the falls, you'll board a copter with glass sides for unobstructed views and make your way around a figure-eight loop over the falls, rated one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Other vacation Instagram posts will have nothing on this.

Shark cage diving and viewing in Kleinbaai (starting at $161.78; viator.com)

Is kitesurfing too tame for you? If you're in the market for a more extreme water adventure, swimming with great white sharks may be right up your alley. You'll make your way to Dyer Island, known for the large number of Cape fur seals that breed there and the large number of sharks that prey on them.

It makes it an ideal area to dive into the waters (in a cage, of course) and see a massive great white in its natural habitat. And even if jumping into the water isn't your thing, you can still get in on the action by viewing these creatures from the boat as they surface during feeding.

Bungee jumping from Stockhorn cable car in Interlaken (starting at $198; viator.com)

Interlaken is a tourist hot spot in Switzerland, boasting great views of three mountains and opportunities for snowboarding, skiing and hiking. In the summer, tourists and locals can also go bungee jumping from a cable car above a mountain lake. Those who can brave the heightswill leap into the air from 440 feet up against a stunning background of the Swiss Alps.

Koloa zipline (starting at $155.21; viator.com)

Kauai has been dubbed the "the Garden Isle" of Hawaii thanks to its abundance of rainforest vegetation. This stunning environment sets the scene for an incredible ziplining experience through the local forest. On this three-hour adventure, you'll be able to soar across eight tracks, including the grand finale of an over half-mile final course. From above, you'll be able to enjoy views of the Waita Reservoir and the ocean. It's no wonder the excursion received a 5-star rating from past travelers.

Serra de Tramuntana cliff jumping in Mallorca (starting at $73.02; viator.com)

If you're a bona fide thrill-seeker, diving boards are child's play. You'll likely want something that packs more of a punch, like cliff diving. The UNESCO-listed Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca offers travelers dozens of seaside cliffs and ledges to plunge from. On this small-group tour, you'll enjoy over four hours of scenic mountain views, scaling rock faces, and of course, jumping into crystal clear waters.

Dune buggy desert safari in Dubai (starting at $320; viator.com)

Dubai is in the Arabian Desert, making it the ideal spot to do some dune buggy driving. This desert safari tour gives you an hourlong buggy ride in the heart of the desert. But that's not all you get over the course of the day. The excursion also involves setting up in a Bedouin-style camp where you can enjoy light refreshments, ride a camel and wind down the evening with a barbecue dinner and belly dancing show.

St. Martin kitesurfing lesson (starting at $179.30; viator.com)

For adventurers at heart, kitesurfing may be just the adrenaline rush they need during a beachside retreat. Take this lesson on the Caribbean island of St. Martin, for instance. You'll receive 2 1/2 hours of kitesurfing training, including how to lift and steer the kite, stand on the board and maneuver around on open waters.
