He showed off his eclectic musical taste

Washington CNN  —

President Barack Obama once again proved his eclectic taste in music, releasing two summer playlists while he vacations on Martha’s Vineyard with the first family.

A day later, on Friday, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill released their playlist for their summer holidays.

Obama’s playlists – one curated for daytime and one for nighttime – and the Bidens’ playlist, feature music from a wide range of singers and genres, and are available on the official White House Spotify account.

For Obama’s playlist, the music was “hand-selected” by the President, according to the White House, and includes classics from Aretha Franklin, Miles Davis and Prince, along with more recent artists Common, Jay Z and Wale.

The playlist also showcases artists who have performed at the White House including Janelle Monae, Sara Bareilles and Esperanza Spalding.

The Bidens’ playlist features artists including Coldplay, Courtney Barnett, Common and Charles Mingus.

Obama announced the playlist in a tweet Thursday: “Been waiting to drop this: summer playlist, the encore. What’s everybody listening to?”

The Bidens announced their playlist in a tweet on Friday that said, “From Jill and me, here is the soundtrack to our summer days and nights, past and present.”

This is the President and Vice President’s second playlist. In December 2015, both the President and Biden released their respective holiday playlists.

The Obamas are currently enjoying a two-week stay on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, where the first family has vacationed for almost every year of Obama’s presidency.
