If Bernie Sanders wins this November, he would be the oldest person ever elected to the presidency at 75 years old.

Sanders was born in New York on September 8, 1941. Here’s a look at some photos of his early years.

In addition to being captain of both the track and cross country teams, Bernie Sanders was also a reporter for the school paper and the president of his senior class. James Madison High School is also the alma mater of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Judge Judy, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Carole King, Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Norm Coleman and several Nobel Prize winners.
