Sunny Schulman Meisler -- mother of acclaimed photographer Meryl Meisler -- reads an article in November 1978. From February 25 to April 9, the Steven Kasher Gallery in New York will present a solo exhibition of Meryl Meisler's earliest work. It will include this photo and more than 35 other moments Meisler captured throughout the 1970s. "Meisler's photographs take us to the kitsch-filled rooms of her hometown in Long Island, and to the gritty clubs and streets of disco-era New York," the gallery said.
