The Dove family has been struck by leukemia twice. Lily, left, was diagnosed in 2013. Her identical twin, Bailey, right, was just diagnosed in March 2015. Their parents, Erin and Ryan, and older sister, Maddie, try to maintain a sense of normalcy for the girls. Click through the gallery to learn more about their story.

The Dove family became involved with the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer organization dedicated to fund-raising for childhood cancer research. In 2014, the Doves attended a local head-shaving event, where Lily was honored and all of them shaved their heads. This year, they participated in another event and their team raised $27,000 for childhood cancer research. Bailey was feeling well that day and even shaved her father's head.

Lily and Bailey love playing sports. The family motto is "fight like a girl." They took this photo with Maddie ahead of a softball tournament.

Even though they try to keep a normal schedule and a positive vibe, not every day or photo is full of smiles, Erin Dove said. They battle through tough days, like this recent one when Bailey wasn't feeling well.

Lily endured months of treatments before being declared leukemia-free in August. Now that her sister is receiving the same treatments, Lily has given Bailey advice and told her what to expect.

On August 30, 2015, Lily ended her treatments at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. The tradition is to ring a bell, signifying the conclusion. Dove says that this day was "a mix of emotions" because it was supposed to be the end, but instead, the roller coaster continued -- Bailey's leukemia was diagnosed in March 2015.

Family trips and getaways help the girls to experience a fun, normal side of their childhood. They look forward to taking more trips in the future when everyone is feeling well.
