Chef Michael Anthony of New York's Gramercy Tavern was named outstanding chef of the year.
Chef Jessica Largey of Manresa restaurant in Los Gatos, California, took home a medal for rising star chef of the year.
Chef Michel Nischan received the 2015 James Beard Humanitarian of the Year award. Nischan was recognized for being a "trailblazer of the sustainable food movement" through his work with advocacy groups Chefs Action Network and Wholesome Wave.
Chef Rick Bayless attends the 2015 James Beard Awards at Chicago's Lyric Opera on Monday. Bayless was named outstanding chef in 2005 and his restaurant, Topolobampo, was recognized for outstanding service in 2011.
