Architects NBBJ have designed what they describe as a "no shadow tower."

The idea works by bouncing light between two specially designed buildings onto public spaces below and might reduce shadow by as much as 60%.

This computer graphic displays how sunlight would be reflected down onto ground level via panels stationed on the side of the larger of two towers.

NBBJ say the concept could work in a number of locations around the world.

NBBJ's concept was designed for the Greenwich Peninsula in London.

Hundreds more high-rise buildings are expected to be built in London in years to come, according to research from the New London Architecture thinktank.
