Kabul CNN —

Three rockets fired from an unknown location landed on the military side of the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Thursday, police spokesman Hashmat Stanikzai said.

Buildings in area of the airport where the rockets landed have caught fire, he said.

In June of last year, Taliban fighters attacked the airport with the intention of targeting Americans, who use parts of the airport for military and civilian purposes.
