The characters of 'The Star Wars' —
George Lucas' rough draft script, "The Star Wars," is finally being illustrated in full by Dark Horse Comics. The characters of Lucas' original vision vary in big and small ways from the ones we know and love from "Star Wars." For example, Darth Vader wears no helmet here.

General Luke Skywalker —
One of the first people we encounter in the eight-issue series is General Skywalker, a good deal older and more experienced than the Jedi-in-training from the original film. (The 1974 script's Luke also bears a striking resemblance to Lucas in 2013.)

Han Solo —
Perhaps the most jarring difference in "The Star Wars" comic is the fact that Han is an alien. (But he's still quite fluent in Wookiee.)

Princess Leia —
The original Leia appears to be something of a combination of the films' Leia and Queen Amidala (the trademark buns are nowhere in sight).

Kane Starkiller —
Like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Kane is a seasoned Jedi in this story, but Kane appears to be younger than Obi-Wan. The Jedi are being hunted by the Sith, but there are some still around at this point, including General Skywalker and Kane's two sons.

Annikin Starkiller —
Annikin (as opposed to Anakin Skywalker) is a separate character from Darth Vader in this story, though he shares some of the same characteristics.

Deak Starkiller —
There was a minor character named Deacon cut out of "Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope," but the closest thing to Deak in the films is probably the young Anakin of "Episode I: The Phantom Menace." The aspiring Jedi even exclaims "Yippee!" at one point.
