Paula Deen issued a tearful apology on the Today Show.
CNN  —

Bring your lunch and take a seat as we discuss how issues of race, identity and redemption come together around food.

Race has been front and center in the news recently. Businesses distanced themselves from celebrity chef Paula Deen. The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on affirmative action and gutted the Voting Rights Act with the admonition to Congress that “things in the South have changed.” The Senate passed historic immigration legislation. And the testimony of Rachel Jeantel in the George Zimmerman trial was filled with controversy.

What’s your take?

Join us at 1 p.m. EST for an hour with special guests Adrian Miller, attorney and Soul Food scholar, and Tricia Rose, incoming director of Brown University’s Center for the Study of Race and Ethnicity in America. Also joining the discussion are Kat Kinsman, editor of CNN’s Eatocracy and Alicia Stewart, Editor, Identity.
