Navy wives get fit – In February 2011, the friends were excited about having lost around 20 pounds each. Ritchie, left, then living in Chicago, and Moyer, who was in Virginia,offered each other support and encouragement via daily phone calls and occasional visits.
Navy wives get fit – Ritchie used to agonize over what to wear for military functions with her husband, Mike. But not anymore, as evidenced by this photo in September 2011. "I could see it in her eyes when she came down the stairs of our house wearing that dress, that she finally realized that all the hard work she had done for the last nine months had paid off," Mike says.
Navy wives get fit – Moyer, with her husband, Randy, was down to about 170 pounds here in March. She says Randy always has made her feel like the prettiest girl in the room, even when she was a size 30. Now most of her clothes are size 6.

Navy wives get fit – The friends now live near each other and go to the gym together nearly every morning. Ritchie, left, dropped 111 pounds in 10 months, going from 260 to 149 pounds. She's now in maintenance mode. Moyer has lost 170 pounds. Both say they will always be food addicts.
