Goldstein and his wife of 38 years, Sue, who is program coordinator for San Diego Sexual Medicine. On the wall behind them are some of Goldstein's awards; in 2009, he received the gold medal from the World Association of Sexual Health for his lifetime achievements in sexual medicine.

Patients who are too shy to shop in adult stores can purchase sex aids from San Diego Sexual Medicine's adult toy store without embarrassment. Office employees also shop here, says Sue Goldstein: "We don't want to sell things we can't vouch for ourselves."
