An American couple that had gone missing in Peru has been found safe, Peru’s Ministry of Tourism and Commerce told CNN Tuesday.
Jamie Neal and Garret Hand, a couple from the San Francisco area, left last November and began chronicling their trip through South America on social media until they went missing last month.
In late January, however, their Internet postings stopped and calls to their cell phones went unanswered.
Jamie Neal’s sister Jennifer said the couple’s families and friends hadn’t been able to get in touch with them since. The man and woman, both 25, had been last reported seen in Lima, the Peruvian capital.
