Though Inauguration Day officially fell on a Sunday this year, the public swearing-in ceremony will take place in Washington on Monday. Hillary Clinton testifies on Benghazi —
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will testify before House and Senate committees in a high-profile hearing Wednesday on the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year. Clinton was set to testify in December on the terror assault that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans, but it was postponed for health reasons.

John Kerry confirmation hearing —
Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, will face a nomination hearing on Thursday to succeed Hillary Clinton as secretary of state. President Barack Obama tapped Kerry for the role in December after Susan Rice, U.S. ambassador to the U.N., withdrew her candidacy amid criticism over comments she made about the attack in Benghazi.
